notVPN FAQ

Short answers to the main questions about notVPN, subscriptions, routes, reserve connections, and how it differs from regular VPN services.

Is this a VPN?

Not in the classic sense. notVPN uses tunneling, traffic masking, and routing technologies to provide more resilient access when regular VPNs become unstable.

How is it different from a regular VPN?

A regular VPN often relies on one protocol and a direct connection to a remote server. notVPN uses a local entry point, traffic masking, reserve routes, and updatable infrastructure.

Do I need to configure everything manually?

No. You get a personal dashboard, a QR code, and a subscription link. A compatible app loads the configuration from the subscription.

What happens if one route stops working?

Reserve connection options can be available inside the subscription. Depending on the app, switching can be automatic or manual.

Does this guarantee there will be no blocking?

No. Absolute guarantees do not exist in traffic-filtered networks. But notVPN is designed to reduce blocking risk and adapt faster to new restrictions.

Why not just install any VPN?

You can. But if a regular VPN starts getting restricted, slows down, or stops connecting, you will need to find a new server, protocol, and setup guide yourself. notVPN takes that work on.

Why can the connection go through a local server?

This approach reduces the user’s dependence on a direct connection to a remote server. The device connects to a local entry point in the user’s country, while the outward route is handled by the notVPN infrastructure.

Can I use notVPN on multiple devices?

Yes. You can use the subscription on several personal devices if your app supports subscription import. All traffic is consumed from the shared limit of your selected plan.

Why is the balance in EUR but the SBP charge is in RUB?

The internal account balance and plan prices are denominated in EUR. If you pay via SBP, the payment provider charges the amount in RUB. Before redirecting you to payment, we show the estimated RUB charge amount.

Which exchange rate is used for SBP payments?

The RUB amount is calculated using the Bank of Russia EUR/RUB rate available to the service when the payment is created. If a fresh rate is temporarily unavailable, notVPN uses the latest known rate stored in its database; if no rate is available yet, a fallback calculation rate is used.

When will my balance update after payment?

Your balance updates after confirmation from the payment provider. This usually takes from a few seconds to a couple of minutes. If you already closed the payment page, return to your dashboard and check the subscription status.

Who can contact support about a subscription?

Support for a specific subscription is available to the dashboard owner — the person whose email or Telegram is linked to the account. This helps us avoid exposing subscription data or changing access at someone else’s request.

Is there a fair use policy for traffic?

Yes. The subscription is intended for personal use. You should not publish the subscription link publicly, resell access, or use one plan as a shared account for a large group. If you use the subscription on several personal devices, all traffic is still consumed from the same plan limit.
